About this deal

This servant’s entire existence was to “service” his master in whatever way the master asked or demanded. He takes a thread of known history and a bit of mythology, adds some literary licence and creates a book you can't put down. Narrated by Arthur's friend Derfel Cadarn (a former slave raised by the wizard Merlin), this volume tells of Arthur's struggles to bind the warlords together and strengthen the throne that he holds for the beastly Mordred, who is to supposed to inherit the throne of Britain. This story will see finally the kingdoms united under Warlord Arthur to take the fiels as one front against the Saxons and be victorious.

I enjoyed the first book but it took some time to get into and there were a hell of a lot of names to take on board (only for the majority of them to die or no longer be involved after 50 pages). He turns his attention to face the invading Saxons, while Merlin begins a quest to uncover the sacred treasures of Britain, believing they will bring the might of the old Gods behind Arthur for one last decisive battle. I cannot recommend it enough, and I'll be forever grateful to all my friends who have pushed me to read this trilogy.Ceinwyn finds the Cauldron buried atop a hill, but the group is surrounded and besieged by Diwrnach's macabre warriors. The second half has faster paced, the last two chapters (more or less the last 60 pages of the book), in particular, were damn thrilling despite having only a small amount of actions. Seeing fires burning on the other side of the Severn, Derfel discovers that Lancelot has suddenly attempted to usurp the Dumnonian throne by inciting religious unrest. I love the previous book, love this one even more and I hope the last one will continue the same tradition.

Or will you follow the law, saving millions of people’s lives that you don’t know in exchange of your loyal friend’s existence? So when Jesus said it was impossible to serve God and mammon, He was actually saying that it is impossible to serve both God and worldliness. Joining those who remain opposed to Lancelot at Glevum, they find Arthur there, in council with Kings Meurig of Gwent and Cuneglas of Powys. If this believer does not quickly surrender, repent, and come back to where he ought to be, God will continue to take a stand against his activities.

I've grown to enjoy more and more this version of the characters and especially the view of Lancelot and Guinevere who definitely don't come out smelling like roses. You see, God is so passionate about your relationship with Him that He is unwilling to share you with the world. How does God look on it when a believer departs from the red-hot spiritual passion he once possessed and turns his devotion to other things? Shortly after his acclamation, Mordred sends both Arthur and Derfel on an errand into Powys to capture the traitor Ligessac, who years earlier had betrayed Dumnonia and caused the death of Mordred's mother Norwenna at the hands of King Gundleus. This doesn’t mean the book isn’t thrilling or filled with suspense at all, the second half of the book was so addictive and thrilling despite having minimum actions as I mentioned.

The last enemy to be destroyed is death” (1 Corinthians 15:25–26; see also 2 Timothy 1:10; Revelation 21:4).

Since any trial against them will result in their conviction, Tristan appeals for a trial by combat, his only way to escape his father's punishment. The Gothenburg influences of the band's previous album, Violent Revolution, became more prominent on this album. Cornwell wanted to start the series with the Siege of Badajoz but decided instead to start with a couple of "warm-up" novels. First, though, Merlin leads a perilous expedition into the mysterious west to retrieve a cauldron, one of the treasures of Britain – this cauldron story is almost certainly the root of the holy grail strand in the Arthur tales.

And those times were when Briton was desperately fighting itself and trying to hold back the Saxon invasions. In a ceremony witnessed by the kings allied to Dumnonia, Mordred is brought to Caer Cadarn and granted his full power. Arthur and his few remaining allies devise a plan to reinforce Sagramor against Cerdic, sending Culhwch and Cuneglas' spears to his aid at Corinium, while he, Derfel and forty of their best spears rescue Guinevere and Arthur's son Gwydre, who are being held captive by Lancelot's men at the Sea Palace. An enemy is one who dislikes or hates another and seeks to harm, contradict, and fight the one he is set against.
